I
grew up in a middle class family up and down the east coast. My father was a
social worker and mother a teacher.
I
received my B.A. from Emory
University and traveled
widely in my youth.
I
worked at many jobs. Some were fascinating. Some were boring. But each was
memorable.
Self-employment
suited me better, most recently as owner of Right Angle Builders, a design and
construction company focused on new homes in the urban pioneer neighborhoods of
Atlanta, Georgia. My favorite part was
designing small houses that felt large, with generous sight lines and gracious
public spaces.
I
have been writing, and been a writer, my whole life. My work includes fiction,
poetry, comedy, and a memoir.
My
interests include reading, photography, video and performance art, canoeing,
tennis, travel, cooking, and gardening.
Recently,
I relocated from Atlanta to Richmond, Virginia,
with my wife Veronica, cat Hazel, and tons of stuff. One of my new hobbies is
riding the train to visit my daughter Rose in New York.
